SHOTS, SHOTS, SHOTS

The past few weeks have been pretty uneventful, with the exception of today. Today my mother and I went to the clinic for routine shots. Instead, I found myself getting one step closer to Bolivia.

My allergist insisted that, since I will be adventuring into the Amazon, I should get the typhoid vaccine and take prescription Malaria pills. So, I need to go see my primary care doctor to get a prescription for Malaria pills. Can you believe that? Malaria pills! This adventure into the jungle really is making my trip more complicated, yet so much more exciting.

I had to get a blood test for G6PD deficiency. NO idea what that means, but I know it has something to do with my enzymes and the way that the Malaria pills would metabolize in my system. I have to wait 48 hours for results to see WHICH type of Malaria pill I am able to receive. SO interesting, right?

So, Bolivia, I'm 2 strange injections and a blood test closer. Here I come!
